Plums

We propagate everything we sell, in-house, from scion to grafted tree. We don't buy and resell plants like the large online nurseries — every tree starts here, on our Maine property, and we're actively growing, observing, and culling as we go. Our orchard is young and we're learning alongside it, dropping varieties that underperform and doubling down on the ones that prove themselves in our climate.

We graft exclusively onto full-sized, vigorous seedling rootstocks — no dwarfing stock, ever.

Our plum selection focuses on hybrid varieties bred for cold hardiness in the upper Midwest, alongside standout selections from cold hardy North American native plum species. These are trees developed specifically for northern growers — tough, productive, black knot resistant and largely absent from mainstream nursery catalogs.

I planted them on the same day they were picked up at Hobbs in early November this year. 2025, We can do a follow up review in the spring as to how they take. I enjoyed the trip to the nursery and like to shop Maine Local whenever possible.

I finally planted my elderberry plants 2 weeks after I got them! Because of the weather and the biggest snowstorm of the year I couldn’t get them right in! I kept them in a cool place and when I opened them up they looked great! Starting to bud out and the roots looked phenomenal! Thank you for such quality plants and the extras 😉
