Fox Grape (rooted cuttings)
Fox Grape (rooted cuttings)
(Vitus labrusca) One year old rooted cuttings
The fox grape is the native species growing here on the farm and all cuttings are local ecotype. Can be found up and down the Eastern seaboard. The famous Concord grape (used in most purple grape juice and jelly) was a seedling selection of this species. Everyone is familiar with that "Foxy" musky tart flavor of the purple skins, it packs a wallop! Makes an excellent juice jelly and wine. vigorous and hardy. Black rot can be an issue on wet years.
