Elderberry (rooted cuttings)
Elderberry (rooted cuttings)
(Sambucus canadensis)
Elderberry is a fast growing native shrub that is covered in a beautiful white bloom from late spring to early summer. The plants produce an abundant crop of large umbels covered in dark purple berries that ripen in late summer. A great wildlife plant, birds love the fruit. Used often to make syrups, teas, wine and jams. Elderberry is often found growing along stream banks, ditches and road edges but it is tolerant of many different soil types. Typically reaches about 8-10 feet tall. Thicket forming and makes a great hedge or windbreak. (zone 3)
