Plum Scion

~8 in. cutting for grafting to Plum rootstock.

All scions will be enough to do at least 2 grafts. Diameter varies depending on variety and growth habit. If we only have smaller scions available, we will send 2.

 Canada Plum (Prunus nigra)

Local ecotype. This is the native plum species found in Maine. Ours have been grafted onto American plum rootstock with scion collected from local thickets. Sweet flesh, tart skin. Would be great in a jelly. The best smelling flowers we’ve come across, standing in a thicket in full bloom is absolute heaven. Great pollinator for other plums. Black knot resistant but susceptible to plum pocket and curculio.
